February Experience Excellence Award
The OCS Experience Excellence Award recognizes individuals who provide excellent service, going above and beyond to ensure that students, parents, staff, and the community have an outstanding experience with Oldham County Schools.
February’s recipient is Brandon Murphy.
Brandon is one of the steady forces that helps EOMS excel. He is a terrific advocate for student and staff well-being and is always available with a smile or listening ear. He is responsive to student needs and creative in his approach to find solutions. He is collaborative with professionals, parents, and members of the community to organize events and 'need' drives that benefit our student population. From working with the Freemasons to helping run the House system, he has an ever-present energy and a willingness to do whatever it takes to support the kids and adults at East.
In addition to all that, he constantly strives for innovative ways to reach different populations of students. He worked for a significant amount of time to secure permission and training to have a therapy dog come to the school with him a few days a week. Not only is that cool, it provides an outlet for students who struggle with anxiety and depression, and to those who just need comfort.
Brandon has strengthened the school culture, has a fierce passion for working with students, and does whatever it takes to reach every person that steps foot in East Oldham Middle School. He is an asset to the school and to our community.
