January Experience Excellence Award

The OCS Experience Excellence Award recognizes individuals who provide excellent service, going above and beyond to ensure that students, parents, staff, and the community have an outstanding experience with Oldham County Schools.

Ms. Perkins' student-centered approach is embedded in everything that she does in her classroom, and she is committed to providing her students with the resources they need to be successful beyond the four walls of the school building.

She celebrates her students’ successes and encourages them to reach for the stars. During a faculty meeting, she invited a student from her EL course to celebrate in front of the staff as the Crown Trophy Award Student of the Month, where she read out loud the contributions and successes the student accomplished while at OCHS. Not more than a week later, she assisted a student from her class making his first college phone call ever to an admissions counselor at Berea College, and she made sure that we celebrated his big moment as he set a date to tour the campus. She is 100% student-centered.
