Employment Opportunities

NEW: The OCBE has approved a one-time STIPEND, to be paid as follows:

1. $3000 gross pay per full-time employee and certain probationary employees, as specified below

2. $1500 gross pay per part-time employee paid by time clock and Standard Invoice (excludes those paid via Standard Invoice outside the regular Instructional day)

Employees listed above must meet the following conditions to be eligible for payment:

  • a. To be considered full-time, an employee must be on full-time status as of November 1, 2025.
  • b. To be considered part-time, an employee must be on part-time status as of November 1, 2025.
  • c. Probationary employees must be hired by November 1, 2025.
  • d. Be an active employee as of November 1, 2025 and still in active status on the date of payment.

4. Employee groups not specifically identified above will not be eligible at this time for this particular payment, to include but not limited to paraprofessionals, coaches, sponsors, substitute teachers, community-based instructors and student workers.

5. Certified retirees may or may not be eligible for payment due to KTRS rules and regulations. You will need to contact KTRS prior to November 1, 2025 to discuss your individual circumstances, and let payroll know your status.

6. Payment is anticipated to be concurrent with the late November or early December payroll based on time needed for preparation and coordination.


At Oldham County Schools, we continuously explore innovative incentives and effective recruitment and retention strategies to attract top talent and ensure our dedicated team members feel valued, motivated, and empowered to thrive. Our goal is to build a workplace culture where excellence is recognized, growth is encouraged, and every employee knows they are a vital part of our shared mission.The following is a partial list of actions taken over the past few years in order to elevate the experience for our employees and cultivate a supportive and rewarding work environment:

Compensation and Pay Increases:

  • A 5% raise for salaried employees, starting July 1, 2025. (Salaries have now increased 17% over the last 4 years)
  • A $2.00/hour increase for all hourly employees, starting July 1, 2025.
  • Stipend of $7,000 per assigned certified staff and $3,500 per assigned classified staff for specific hard-to-fill and retain classrooms: Functional Academic (FA) classroom, Communication and Behavior (CAB) classroom, Positive Behavior Support (PBS) classroom, and IECE Preschool teachers and assistants. (paid over 24 pay periods)
  • An extension of all salary schedules (certified and classified) to 33 years
  • New certified salary schedule to greatly increase starting salary for new teachers
  • $35/hour for all certified extra duties
  • $250 increase to all clubs and extracurricular stipends 
  • Nurses move to MAG salary schedule at 119, for 7 hours and 187 days
  • Bus monitors' hourly contract increased from 4 hours a day to 6 hours a day
  • District pays the La Grange city tax for all employees

Benefits and Leave:

  • Six weeks paid parental leave for new and adoptive parents
  • TYTO Healthcare Clinics on campuses for employees and their families
  • Staff can convert unused personal days into sick days 1:1
  • Free tuition for children of employees living outside of Oldham County
  • Flexibility to complete planning on your own time if you cover during normal planning
  • Reduced the amount of time it takes for full-time, year-round classified staff to earn vacation days: 
    • 0 through 1 year of employment ten (10) days 
    • 2 through 5 years of employment fifteen (15) days 
    • 6 + years of employment twenty (20) days

Staffing and Workload:

  • Expanded SRO support
  • Dedicated “Safe Schools” day to complete required online training
  • Staffing ratios below state recommendations: K-5 / (23.20 :1) 6-8 / (23.65:1) 9-12 / (23.90:1)
  • The addition of one staff member at each middle school and new instructional materials to implement a new course for passion to a pathway

Resources and Instructional Support:

  • Each K-12 school to receive $100 of restricted funds per student enrolled for the purpose of student and staff technology needs
  • $100 per student identified for free/reduced to reduce barriers to learning.  The resources provided will be decided upon by each school which might include but are not limited to intervention, instructional resources, extra time stipends and more.
