In-District Transfer Requests
for the 2026–2027 School Year

The initial application window for in-district transfer requests for the 2026–2027 school year will open on December 1, 2025. Families who wish to request a transfer for their child should carefully review the information below.

Eligibility and Criteria:

  • Transfer requests must be based on physical, psychological, or educational reasons. Family hardship may also be considered. 
  • Principals consider a student’s attendance, behavior, and academic progress, while retaining discretion to evaluate other factors relevant to the needs of their school. The principal's decision regarding transfer approval or denial is final. 
  • Requests must be submitted annually and are valid only for the school year in which they are approved. Families must reapply each year if they wish to request a transfer again. 
  • The transfer request form (linked above) must be completed only by the parent or legal guardian and submitted electronically.

Application Windows:

 1.  Initial Window (December 1, 2025 – January 15, 2026) 

  • Open to current students in grades K–11. Students entering Kindergarten in 2026-2027 may not apply during this window. 
  • Families will be notified of decisions by February 28, 2026.

 2. Second Window (May 1, 2026 – May 31, 2026) 

  • Open to any student who will be enrolled for the 2026–2027 school year, including incoming Kindergarten students. 
  • Families will be notified of decisions by June 30, 2026.

Families are strongly encouraged to apply during the first window, as placement in the requested school is limited by availability and class size.
