This policy outlines Oldham County Schools' approach to ensuring environments and opportunities for all students to practice healthy eating and physical activity behaviors throughout the school day while minimizing commercial distractions.

Charges are designed to cover a situation in which parents or students forget to provide or bring monies for breakfast/lunch. Students who have forgotten or lost money may charge meals in the cafeteria.

KRS 158.854 stipulates that the sales from vending machines, stores and canteens, those sales in competition with the school breakfast and lunch programs, cannot take place from the time of the arrival of the first students in the morning until 30 minutes after lunch.

In accordance with Federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, the USDA, its Agencies, offices, and employees, and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA.
