Summer Visual Art Institute is an intensive two-week course for high school credit. To be accepted into the course, students are required to audition for the institute by submitting a portfolio of five pieces of the student's choice. Admission is based on artistic merit and recommendation by their art teachers.
Summer Visual Art Institute is designed to:
•deepen student learning in a variety of art concepts, media, techniques, and collaborative projects
•work in connection with other high school art courses to give students a stronger visual language
•further enhance student portfolios for:
- applying to university programs and art schools
- interviewing for advanced placement courses
- auditioning for gifted and talented visual arts
The Oldham County Schools Arts Center offers a full-tuition scholarship to students that successfully meet the requirements for credit.
