OCMS Colonels

Who we are...

We are a community diverse in race, religion, social status and need and unique in our own way. We are the future. We are full of potential that waits to be unlocked. We embrace challenges and bring to bear a unique blend of knowledge, creativity, hard work and 21st century skills. We seek to be enduring learners, problem-solvers and critical thinkers who will leave a positive imprint on our world.

The Eight Great Traits

Service: We find that through service to others we build a better world. We constantly seek opportunities to use our time, talents and expertise to improve our community.

Perseverance: We don't shy away when things get difficult. We know that through hard work and critical thinking we can solve any problem if we stay the course.

Individuality: We recognize that we are diverse and unique individuals. We celebrate our similarities and differences and treat each other with non-negotiable levels of respect.

Encouragement: We make it a priority to build each other up. We stand up for those in need and champion our friendships.

Character: We know that the measure of a person is the character that they carry with them. We strive to emphasize positive attributes. We know that the right thing is always the right thing.

Problem-Solving: We ask for tough problems. We can access and bring to bear strategies that enable us to critically analyze the problem. Whether alone or with our teammates we will find the solution.

Understanding: We realize that knowledge is more than memorization and recall. Knowledge is understanding and transferring our understanding to a variety of situations and purposes over time, every time.

Innovation: We realize that in order to compete as global citizens we must not only embrace innovation but make it the basis of all that we do. No "box" can hold us; we want to lead the 21st century.
