Oldham County High School is a comprehensive public high school located 25 miles northeast of Louisville, Kentucky in Oldham County. OCHS is designed around the Professional Learning Community (PLC) concept. It is accredited by the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools (SACS) and was a National Blue Ribbon School during 1996-1997 and 2001-2002. OCHS is currently ranked in the top 15 high schools in the state of Kentucky.
During the freshmen and sophomore years, students focus on the completion of a majority of their graduation requirements. At the end of their sophomore year, students are asked to select a “Major” — A.P.; University; Career. During the junior and senior years, students work to meet the selected Major requirements for recognition at graduation.

A.P. Major — Students graduating with 5+ AP courses. AP courses are on a weighted GPA scale. One of the AP courses should be taken during the Sophomore year. A.P. Major includes at least two courses in a world language.
University Major — Students graduating with 4+ college level courses. College courses are dual credit and on an un-weighted scale. University courses may not replace graduation requirements and are only available to juniors and seniors. Juniors take an ACT/SAT prep course in conjunction with their first university course. University Major includes at least two courses in a world language.
Career Major — Students graduating with skills, certifications, and college credit in the areas of computers, carpentry, automotive, health services, culinary arts, and business. Programs begin with the junior year.
