University of Louisville Early College Meeting
2015-2016 Seniors current Juniors. if you are interested in attending the University of Louisville Early College Meeting Presentation Thursday, April 23rd from 2-3 in the Auditorium, please stop by the guidance office to sign up. The student must have the entrance requirement for U of L, a 22 on the ACT and a 25 sub-score in math to take U of L's MATH 190.
The access road that runs off of Colonel Drive going past the OCHS tennis courts and leading to the Colonel Field House and adjacent parking lot must be kept clear for emergency vehicles to have safe and quick access to our athletic facilities and practice areas. This road shall not be used for parking at any time by personal vehicles or busses from teams visiting our campus for the purpose of athletic competition. Parking options include the lot immediately behind the high school across Colonel Drive from the tennis courts or the parking lot in front or Bell Field Stadium and/or the parking lot behind the OCHS main gymnasium. Your cooperation with this matter is greatly appreciated.
AP Test Scores
Students will be filling out their AP test answer sheets in pre-administration prior to the AP exams next month. Check out this website for directions and answers to common questions about the AP score timeline and process.

OCHS Graduation this year will be held at Broadbent Arena at 2:30pm, June 13. Project Graduation will be held at SOHS.

IT IS TIME FOR SBDM PARENT REPRESENTATIVE NOMINTATIONS, APPLICATIONS & ELECTIONS! Click here for an explanation of what the SBDM School Council does and qualifications to be a member. This document also includes nomination form. The deadline for nominations will be Wednesday, April 15th. You will need to bring your application form to the OCHS Office. Elections will take place on Thursday, April 23rd from 3:00 – 7:00pm and Friday, April 24th from 7:30am – 9 am. Nomination forms will also be available in the Front Office. This is a VERY IMPORTANT position for our school! We need strong informed parents in these positions to help make decisions for the betterment of Oldham County High School. We encourage you to strongly consider applying.

Summer School Criteria
Students will receive a Grade Report on June 12th : Teachers will write Pass/Fail. If the student fails, the teacher will also write if the student is eligible for a Prescription or a Plato Contract and contact parent/guardian.
Students that fail a course with a 64.5% - 69.4% can complete a Prescription (selection of work from their teacher).
Students that fail a course with a 49.5% - 64.4% can complete a PLATO Contract. The student will complete the entire course on the computer. Students will work each day at summer school, but they can also work on the course on the computer at home each night.
Visit the OCHS website to print out the "Summer School Prescription and/or PLATO Contract" document and have your student turn it into their teacher. Copies are also available in the guidance office and with each teacher.

*Summer School Attendance:
2 absences are allowed, however, advanced notice is appreciated
A student may not return to Summer School after a second absence
Only 3 tardies are allowed and will count as one absence.
All students must be in the classroom or with a Summer School teacher by 8:45 a.m.
*There is no transportation for summer school.

Directions for connecting to wireless for personal devices: First connect to PODNet in your wireless settings. Open your browser and navigate to any website. You will be prompted to register. When you register your personal device on the wireless network (PODNet), please use your network account, not guest. Usually your network username is your first initial, middle initial, and last name. The password is the same one you use to get on the computers here at school. If you need help, please see us in the library.
Students need to be picked up/dropped off behind the school on Loop Road, accessible from both highway 393, and highway 146. Students cannot be dropped off or picked up in front of the main office until after 9:00am in the morning or before 4:00 in the afternoon.
Effective for the 2014-2015 school year, OCHS will require all visitors to present and leave a valid photo I.D. in the main office. Upon checkout, your ID will be returned.
Additionally, anyone picking a student up for dismissal will need to present a photo I.D.
This policy will help us better track visitors and vendors in the building helping to make OCHS a safer place for all students, staff and families. As always, we appreciate your support!
Welcome back to school, parents! We are excited about our partnership with Operation: PARENT and I would like to encourage you to attend one of their classes or speaker events this fall. It's a great way to meet other parents and raise your awareness on issues that often catch parents off guard. Any parent of a 4th-12th grade student can benefit from the information. All classes and speaker events are being held on the Oldham County High School campus. If fees are a problem, scholarship funds are available.
