Oldham County High School, accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and recognized as a Kentucky and National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, serves approximately 1420 students in grades 9 through 12. Eighty-three percent of the 2010 graduates continued their education at the post-secondary level. A comprehensive instructional program is highlighted by an extensive selection of academic, technical, and career preparatory classes. Students may earn college credit through the Advanced Placement program in seventeen areas, and Jefferson Community and Technical College's dual-credit program in eleven areas. Students are also given the opportunity to register for and take college courses on campus. Multiple work experience programs are SCHOOL AWARDS/ TEACHER AWARDS: Recipient of National Secondary School of Excellence Award by the U. S. Department of Education(1987 & 2002); 2001-2002 Recipient of State Award in Education/Kentucky Department of Education; 2004 - 2005 Kentucky State Academic Decathlon Champions; 2nd place state Chess tournament; National FFA 5th Place Gold Emblem--Environmental & Natiural Resources Team; 17 Governors Scholars; 5 Governor School for the Arts Scholars; 10 National Board Certified Teachers STATE CONTEST RESULTS: All-state participants in band and choir. FFA-numerous state championships, national team and indivdual award winners. Chess Team– Second place in state. The Clarion Colonel student newspaper received a First Place Division AAAA General Excellence Award from the KHSJA, a Gold Rating from the NSPA, and multiple other individual awards. Broadcast journalism-First at WKU Mark of Excellence, Second at KHSJA,first in documentary at Columbia University Scholastic Press Assoc.
