8TH GRADE T-SHIRTS
All 8th grade students need to wear their red 8th grade t-shirt tomorrow, Tuesday, May 14.  The 8th grade class picture will be taken tomorrow. 

8TH GRADE PROMOTION CEREMONY & DANCE
The Promotion Ceremony will be held at 6:30 pm on Thursday, May 23 in the gym.  Please see attached letter regarding dress code and the evenings events. 

MEDICATIONS
If you have medication on file at school, please make arrangements to pick any leftover medicine on or before the last day of school.  This includes any medicine left from the Washington trip. All medication not picked up by June 4 will be destroyed.  If you cannot pick up life-sustaining medications (inhalers, epi-pens, Diastat, glucagon) by June 4, please call the office to make alternate arrangements.  Please see attached letter for our Campus Nurse.

BETA MEETING
Our next Beta meeting will be Tuesday, May 14, at 7:45 am in Redmon Room. This is not for new inductees. 

BETA CLUB INVITATIONS
Beta Club invitations are being sent home with students that qualify for next year’s club.  This is for new Beta students only.  Students already in Beta will not receive a letter.  Please return the bottom portion of the letter to Ms. McCoy by Wednesday, May 22. 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR RENAISSANCE
Help is needed from parents to supervise our big Renaissance event the last day of school on Tuesday, May 28 from 11:00 to 2:30.  Lots of fun, outside activities have been planned!  Please contact Michelle Honaker at michellehonaker@insightbb.com if you are available to help. 

SUMMER READING LISTS FOR NEW 7TH & 8TH GRADERS COMING SOON
The summer reading information for incoming 6th graders is posted on our website.  Information for 7th and 8th graders will be available soon.  Be sure to check our website often over the summer.

LOST & FOUND
Lost and Found will be donated to charity on May 10th.

LUNCH ACCOUNTS
Students who do not have money in their lunch account will not be allowed to charge their meal.  Please be sure your child either has money for lunch or money still in their account.  If you have any questions, contact Cheryl Mitchum at Cheryl.mitchum@oldham.kyschools.us.

Community/District Events

South Oldham Basketball Camp for grades 6-8 is July 8-12.  Camp for grades 1-5 is July 15-19.  Both camps run from 830-1200.  Flyers are available in the office.

Project Graduation is Saturday, June 1st at North Oldham High School.  We still need 40 volunteers (age 18 and over) to work the early part of the night (between 9pm and 1:00am) and 50+ to work the later part of the night (between 12:30am and 4:30am) in Security, Games and Food.  We need volunteers (can be under 18 and can earn BETA hours) to help with setting up the school Tues - Thurs evening (28th-30th) and all day Friday the 30th and to help with take-down/clean-up Sunday morning (8am-12pm).  This event cannot take place without the help of volunteers!

The KHSAA (Kentucky High School Athletic Association, which includes middle schools) has revised their sports physical formEffective May 13, 2013, all new sports physicals must be on this new form. Please see form attached.If you have already submitted a sports physical, you do not have to do anything.  If you have not yet submitted your physical, you must use the new form.  Make sure the revision date in the upper right corner is 4/13.We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your help in making this change.
