Reading Academy Graduation
Congratulations to our Oldham County Reading Academy graduates, Ms. Katie Sanders (1st Grade), Ms. Lauren Pfeifer (5th Grade), and Ms. Dorie Arthur (2nd Grade) who were honored last night at the Reading Academy Graduation. All three teachers have attended classes to build their new learning on best practices in the area of literacy over the course of the school year, culminating in last night's event where they demonstrated their new learning about a balanced literacy program. Congratulations on your hard work and dedication to your students!
Nutrition Advisory Council
Camden Station Elementary was recently asked to represent the 10 elementary schools in the district for the Oldham County Nutrition Advisory Council. Several Camden students are serving on this council: Bella Tackett, Alana Williams, Reed Estes, Miranda Gruse, Kaela Pierce, Maddie Scott, Sophie Tackett, and Matthew McGee. This week, these students sampled new breakfast food items that Leigh Anne Peterson, Oldham County Schools Assistant Director of Food Service. The student’s task was to ensure that we are providing healthier, better-tasting foods for our students. The students enjoyed tasting these new products, along with giving Ms. Peterson valuable feedback on what kids really want to eat for breakfast.
