While in the Automotive Technology class, students are engaged in many different aspects of the automotive industry with its focus being on industry certification for two of the three classes offered. The third class offered is Automotive for Everyone. Students in this class will be exposed to general maintenance for vehicles. They also learn basic principles involved in aspects of owning a vehicle (i.e. purchasing, leasing, and upkeep).
Once students have acquired the appropriate safety training, they are often found in the automotive bay where they actually get hands-on experience. This would include access to a new piece of equipment that is a fully functioning engine and a vehicle dash system that allows the instructor to "bug the system" and students learn to diagnose and correct problems.
