Goshen Elementary provides a variety of extra curricular activities for its students! Below you will find information about each of them.
Cross Country - find out more on the groups blog -
Academic Team - Students that qualify for this team will have the opportunity to compete individually in written assessments in the following areas: mathematics, science, language arts, social studies, arts & humanities, and composition. Team events include quick recall and future problem solving. (Grade 5)
Art Club -the focus this year is on CLAY! Students will be learning hand-building clay techniques and firing their glazed pieces in the kiln. (Grades 4 & 5) - offered in Spring 2011
Basketball - students have the opportunity to work on their basketball skills (regardless of their experience) and participate in an intramural format. (Grade 5)
Chorus - a wonderful activity to be involved in with a variety of creative and performance opportunities with singing, instruments and more! (Grades 4 & 5)
Climbing Club - Students learn the basic rock climbing skills. Students will boulder, climb vertical, belay, assist, climb high ropes course, and tie knots. The climbing activities are an extension of what they learn in physical education class.(Grade 5)
Drama Club - this activity is designed to extend students' knowledge of the theater and theater arts, including acting, set design and simple costume and prop construction. (Grades 4 & 5)
Gator Government
Lacrosse - this coed club is designed to introduce the sport of lacrosse to elementary students. New AND experienced players are encouraged to attend. Fundamental skills such as catching, throwing, scooping and offense and defense are taught. (Grades 2-5) - offered in Spring 2011
Technology Club - students in this club learn a variety of technology skills as they create various multi-media projects, ranging from holiday address labels, to podcasting, to digital art. (Grades 4-5)
